A Bit About Me

Since my earliest experiences in science, I have been interested in how plants, as immobile organisms, have evolved strategies to adapt to changing environments. I am particularly intrigued by the idea of epigenetic marks as a language through which plants record and communicate past environmental adaptations to better respond to future stress events. In my PhD project, I study the epigenetic component of flooding stress memory, investigating whether this message can be modified through epigenetic engineering by targeting chromatin marks to introduce stress memories that never occurred or to make previously flooded plants forget they were stressed.

Outside the lab, I am an active person who enjoys swimming and hiking, activities that allow me to disconnect from the city and reconnect with nature.
