A Bit About Me
My interest in plant biology came as a surprise to me, because I was never much interested (or talented) in gardening. But then, in one of my early undergrad courses, I learned how plants perceive different light qualities and use that information to shape their morphology. Since then, I became fascinated by how plants sense and react to their environment to be able to survive without having the option to run away.
I became particularly passionate about projects that investigate plant adaptive responses in context with environmental stresses, which are increasing as a consequence of climate change. That’s why I’m very excited to work on how root architecture is regulated under waterlogging stress during my PhD.
During my free-time, I like to meet my friends, drink coffee or dance West-Coast-Swing.
Education & Work Experience

2023 – December 2025:
2019 – 2023
PhD student in Plant Environmental Signalling and Development at CIBSS / University of Freiburg, Germany.
Master of Science in (Molecular Plant) Biology at the University of Freiburg, (Germany). For my MSc thesis, I spent 7 months at Michelle Watts Lab at the University of Melbourne (Australia), working on root promoter expression patterns in context with root carbon sequestration
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, University of Freiburg (Germany). My BSc thesis was on shade perception and the role of TOR, supervised by Dr. Sarah Courbier.
