A Bit About Me
My wide research interests include plant responses to abiotic stresses (drought, salinity, flooding, heat, heavy-metals, and nutrient deprivation), phyto–remediation and Nano-remediation of polluted soil, forest restoration and modelling of invasive plant species. I am passionate about this current trajectory of my research because of the danger environmental changes pose to the diversity of our world’s flora and fauna, and especially our food security.
In the course of pursuing my research in these areas, I have found the use of nanotechnology to be an effective solution for plant resilience and performance under abiotic stress. Overall, I hope that my research will help to address some of the challenges environmental change poses to food security in my country (Nigeria), Africa and the world at large. Ultimately, I hope to inspire the next generation of female scientists in the largely patriarchal African societies.
